Frequently asked questions
What customers most often want to know before buying. If your question is not here, just give us a call.
How long does it take to install a pool enclosure?
Usually four to six hours, whatever the design.
Can the enclosure be customised?
Yes. Every enclosure is planned to your wishes. Shape, colour, materials and technology are adapted to your pool and its surroundings.
What is the enclosure made of, and which colours are available?
The supports are aluminium in EV1 silver, and any RAL colour is available at extra cost. The roof is made of transparent Makrolon twin-wall sheets, 16 mm thick and UV-protected on both sides. All screws are V4A stainless steel, and the panels last over 25 years.
How does the Sonnenlift system work?
One press of a button on the remote control raises or lowers the roof. That turns your pool roof into an automatic pool enclosure one person can operate alone. The system is robust and low-maintenance.
What power supply does Sonnenlift need?
All you need on site is a 230 V socket. You do not need your own electrician for it.
Can the enclosure withstand snow and wind?
Yes. It is designed for a snow load of 150 kg/m² and withstands wind up to force 7 on the Beaufort scale.
What warranty do you give?
Two years on the technology and ten years on the plastic of the roof panels, covering light fastness and hail. Your statutory rights remain unaffected and free of charge alongside this warranty. The full warranty conditions are in the legal notice.
Do I need planning permission?
No. The enclosure counts as a demountable structure and can be taken down at any time.
How do I look after my pool enclosure?
Cleaning the polycarbonate panels regularly is all it takes. That keeps the enclosure looking good and working well for a long time.
What does a pool enclosure cost?
We quote on request, because every enclosure is planned individually. The price depends on the size of the pool, the shape of the roof, the materials and whether you would like an automatic pool enclosure with the Sonnenlift system. Send us the dimensions of your pool and you will receive a quotation.
Is a pool enclosure the same as a pool cover?
No. A pool cover lies flat on the water, usually as a tarpaulin or a roller cover. It keeps leaves out and holds the warmth for a while. A pool enclosure is a walk-in pool roof you can swim under, even in wind and rain. We build enclosures, not covers. If you are unsure which suits your pool, give us a call.
